"Imagine speaking a foreign language in a foreign land, or even driving on the opposite side of the road from what you’ve always known. Where you come from and what you’ve experienced in life directly shapes how you see the world — and thus, how you create art. Many actors have gone from being directed in front of the camera to directing behind it. But what happens when your experiences have never really been typecast from just one point of view? That’s something Emin Hasirci, alias Rusl, can relate to.
Rusl is not only a graffiti artist working decisively within the techniques of the contemporary graffiti genre — he is also an active illustrator, calligrapher, muralist, and communication designer (M.A.). Operating largely within the disciplines of contemporary typography, graphic design, and aerosol-generated art, Rusl has made a restless contribution to the international graffiti movement since 1993."
After three decades of painting, drawing, and exploring visual language, he realized that platforms like Instagram can’t truly capture the depth of a lifelong practice. This website is not about algorithms or reach — it’s about creating a space that lasts. A place where his work can breathe, evolve, and remain visible beyond the feed.
Graffiti has always been more than just letters on a wall. It’s a culture of exchange — a dialogue built on style, curiosity, and mutual respect. Over the years, Rusl has met people who shaped his way of seeing, writing, and thinking about art. Encounters that turned admiration into friendship, and moments where shared passion became the true foundation of Stylewriting. For him, it has always been about the trace — the personal handwriting that tells a story beyond the surface.
