Born and raised in South-Germany, working largely within the disciplines of contemporary typography, graphic-design and aerosol generated art. Rusl is known for his fresh details as well as his brave color-combinations. He has been making a restless contribution to the international graffiti movement since 1993.
1993 — 2025
Starting in his birth place of Neckarsulm, South-Germany, Rusl takes his multidisciplinary approach to contemporary art to all corners of Europe. Now residing at the border triangle at Lake Constance, Germany where he is his running his own Branding & Designstudio »Eminent«, Rusl is developing his visual language with as much vigor as ever.
Some time ago, he conceived and embarked on a project called »The Liquid Project«, supported by Montana Cans. In this project, he expanded his skill set from background and character painting to the astonishing and rare design of letters that take on the subject and appearance of fluidity, as seen in his recent work. He literally warps and manipulates his letters to reflect a fluid consistency.
Rusl has also developed his concept to include feature artist's that share his attention to detail, to collaborate in giving his liquid letters a context and environment in which to function. So far featured artist's have included: Toast, Hombre, Pixeljuice, Dhos, Sainer and Bezt.
As reference of his outstanding art-work and just mentioning his latest astonishing projects: Liquid-Project and Light-Project. They are the perfect reflection of this huge artist, who knows how to match his love for aerosol painting with his further skills as graphic designer, illustrator, detail lover, perfectionist, photographer and calligrapher (turkish & arabic roots) leading to a new generation of contemporary arts.
Several of Rusl´s works on walls and canvases were exhibited in many countries, including the Russia, China, Germany, Greece, Japan, Czech Republik, Italy, Austria, France, Spain, Turkey and the United States.
Whether rough drawings, strict letters, photo-realistic illustrations or calligraphy - RUSL is able to translate his visual visions in every possible way due to his interdisciplinary background.
Today he works as a communications designer for small, medium-sized companies and major groups as well as a lecturer – with a educational focus on Typography at Hochschule Konstanz - University of Applied Sciences in Constance, Germany. Beside his teaching role he is focused on prevention-workshops, large-sized mural artworks and has a artistic focus on urban-art in public spaces, objects as well as in light experiments in inter-disciplinary projects around the world.
